School and community projects
Posters, presentations, and worksheets are where Canva quietly dominates. Canva for Education is free for eligible teachers and students, and shared class folders make collaborative projects manageable on tablets and phones.
Small-business branding
A Pro subscription centralises logos, fonts, and brand colours in a brand kit so every flyer and story matches. For a one-person business, it replaces a surprising amount of work that once needed an agency.

Drag-and-drop editor
The editor favours speed over precision: snap guides, preset animations, and one-tap styles get acceptable results quickly. Designers used to fine kerning control will feel constrained; everyone else will feel liberated.
AI design tools
Magic Studio bundles text-to-image, background removal, text rewriting, and design generation. Free accounts get limited uses per feature, with Pro raising the quotas. Results are geared toward quick marketing assets rather than fine art.
Collaboration and cloud sync
Every design lives in Canva's cloud, so edits sync instantly across phone, tablet, and browser, and teammates can comment or edit in real time. The corollary: without a connection, you are largely locked out of editing.
