About this app
Source-based review · 2026-10-22 — Feature descriptions below are attributed to the publisher. Our assessment is analysis of public information, not a hands-on test.
Dropbox describes cloud file access, shareable links, document scanning and recovery features.
Sharing a file is easier than governing its copies
A link can replace a bulky attachment, but it also creates a continuing access route. Sync and version history should not be confused with a complete independent backup strategy.
Plan for the end of a project
Sharing a folder at the start of a collaboration is easy to remember. Removing access when the work ends is easier to overlook. Decide who owns the final files, which copies each participant should retain and when shared access will close. That plan helps you evaluate the service as a workflow rather than treating the presence of a share button as complete information management.
Privacy & Data Safety
Inspect folder membership and link permissions before uploading IDs or client documents. Recipients may still retain copies after access changes.
Checks before you commit
Share a non-sensitive sample, open it as the recipient and then revoke access. Check the recovery window associated with your plan before relying on it.
